This week I visit my granny. I look forward to seeing her, though she has grown a little obstinate in her old age. I won’t embarrass her by sharing her years, but let us just suppose she is a lady with exhaustively practiced wisdom.

The last time I saw her I brought my Yamaha keyboard so I could play her some music. She relished it, but regrettably because she is not entirely there, she kept interrupting me to ask me how to clean her computer. Yes, she really uses a computer. And perhaps she was interrupting me because I’m simply that poor at performing with the keyboard.

I constantly discover something puzzling at her house when I visit. Last time, I observed many books on penny stocks on her cocktail table. My granny learning how to buy penny stock online? That’s bizarre. I wonder what I will discover on her coffee table this year.

This year will make for an active sojourn. We must install her different Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then repair her garden cart. I also need to bring her old pans and pots to charity as she recently bought a new collection of pots and pans to replace them. As a reward, she claims to also have bought the best ice cream maker and the greatest of all the electic coffee makers. I’m thankful, but I also must laugh softly as she invariably claims to have or utilize only the very best of this or that.

If all goes well, she’ll use both to serve me some fabulous coffee at dawn and ice cream in the evening. This sounds like more than reward enough for my assistance. I am happy to assist her for nothing, but a little rich java and sweat ice cream doesn’t hurt.
